Metamorphosis Men’s Retreat is an event, first by organized by First Baptist Church, Ft. Mojave in 2016. It continues  with the assistance of several churches to fulfill the goal of planning a retreat for Arizona Southern Baptist Churches to strengthen their men’s ministries.  This website is for both updating information about the retreat and also giving more general suggestions for reaching men.

Why Metamorphosis Men?

The strongest rocks are metamorphic rocks.  They form when weaker rocks are heated and put under pressure. This process makes granite, marble, quartzite and other very solid rocks. As they go through the process limestone becomes marble. Granite forms its distinctive strength and beauty, which allow it to be useful in construction.

Metamorphic rocks remind me of men’s ministry. Men who become bedrock anchors for their church develop slowly, and over time are shaped by and proven by the heat and pressure of life and walking the narrow path.

A man who continues to grow and mature over the long haul will become both discipled and disciplined. These men take time to solidify both Christian living and doctrinal constructs.

Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.                Romans 12:2 (HCSB)

The word translated ‘transformed’ is the Greek word that became the English word ‘metamorphosis.’ Men who endure the heat and pressure of Christian living become transformed into something greater. Something of the Master’s design.

    • If you grab my email off the website and then email me the request. I will send it when I get to the office. Or you can get it from Ed Black. Also it will be given to every person on arrival. I don’t want you to put your email here. It will result in lots of spam.
